A projection from the return you entered, not a forecast. Crypto prices can fall as well as rise, and no return is certain. Fees are left out. To measure an investment you already made, use the Crypto ROI Calculator.
Money is added at the start of each month and grows every month at a steady rate.
Short answers on projecting a crypto investment and on what this calculator assumes.
It shows what a starting amount and regular monthly investments could be worth after a number of years, if they grew at the yearly return you enter. It is a projection from your own assumption, not a prediction of what crypto will do.
Each month the calculator adds your monthly investment and then grows the total by a monthly rate that matches your yearly return. With ₹1,00,000 to start, ₹10,000 a month and 15% a year for five years, you put in ₹7,00,000 and the projected value is ₹10,74,556.47.
There is no right figure. Crypto prices have risen and fallen far more sharply than shares or deposits, and past returns say little about future ones. Try several rates, including a negative one, to see how much the result depends on your assumption.
The calculator assumes you sell everything at the end and pay India's flat tax on crypto profit: 30%, or 31.2% with the 4% cess. In the example above the profit is ₹3,74,556.47, the tax at 30% is ₹1,12,366.94 and the value after tax is ₹9,62,189.53.
Buying a fixed amount every month spreads your purchases over many prices, so you buy more units when the price is low and fewer when it is high. That smooths your average cost, but it does not guarantee a profit. Use the Average Buy Price Calculator to work out your average cost from real purchases.
No. Exchange fees on each purchase and on the final sale are left out, so the real result would be a little lower. The 1% TDS taken when you sell is not a cost: it is an advance payment of your income tax, which you claim back as a credit.
