The price you would need, not a forecast. Tax is worked out the way India taxes crypto, on the sell price minus the buy price, with no deduction for fees. TDS is left out because you claim it back. For the price that only gets your money back, use the Crypto Break-Even Calculator.
The calculator starts from the profit you want and works back to the price that leaves it after fees and tax.
Short answers on setting a sell price and on what this calculator counts.
It shows the price you would need to sell at to reach a profit target. The profit is what is left after the fee on the buy, the fee on the sale and India's tax on crypto profit, so it is money you actually keep.
The calculator adds your target profit to your total cost, then works out the price at which the sale covers both after the sell fee and the tax. Take 0.5 BTC bought at ₹25,00,000 with a 0.5% fee each way. The total cost is ₹12,56,250. A 20% target is ₹2,51,250, and with 30% tax you need to sell at ₹32,58,992.81 per BTC.
Because tax and fees take part of the rise. India taxes the rise in price at 30% and does not let you deduct fees. In the example above a 20% profit needs the price to rise 30.36%. The sale brings in ₹16,29,496.40, of which ₹8,147.48 goes on the sell fee and ₹1,13,848.92 on tax.
Yes. Choose rupees under the target and enter the amount you want to keep. To make ₹1,00,000 in the example above, you would need to sell at ₹28,23,741.01 per BTC. The calculator also shows that amount as a percentage of your total cost.
No. The 1% TDS is taken from the sale value on the day, which is ₹16,294.96 in the 20% example, but it is an advance payment of your income tax. You claim it back as a credit when you file, so it does not reduce your profit. Use the Crypto TDS Calculator to see the amount for any sale.
No. It is the price you would need, not a forecast that the market will reach it. Crypto prices can fall as well as rise. To find only the price that gets your money back, use the Crypto Break-Even Calculator.
