Today's price grown at your rate

Not a forecast. This page works through your own assumption. Nobody knows what a coin will be worth, and its price can fall to nothing. To check a target against the size of the coin, use the Crypto Market Cap Calculator.

How it is calculated

A projected price is today's price grown at the same yearly rate for each year you choose.

  • Projected price = today's price × (1 + growth per year) raised to the power of the number of years
  • Growth needed per year = (target price ÷ today's price) raised to the power of 1 ÷ years, minus 1
  • Total change = projected price ÷ today's price, minus 1
  • Holding now = coins you hold × today's price
  • Holding at that price = coins you hold × projected price

Frequently asked questions

Short answers on price projections and on what this calculator can and cannot tell you.

No, and nothing can. It takes a growth rate that you choose and shows the price that follows from it. The result is only as good as that assumption, so treat it as a what-if and not as a forecast.

By compound growth: today's price is multiplied by 1 plus the yearly growth rate, once for each year. A coin at ₹250 growing 25% a year for 5 years gives ₹250 × 1.25 × 1.25 × 1.25 × 1.25 × 1.25 = ₹762.94, a change of +205.18%.

Choose a target price instead of a growth rate. The calculator divides the target by today's price and takes the yearly rate that gets there in the years you give. For a coin at ₹250 to reach ₹1,250 in 5 years it has to grow 37.97% a year, every year.

There is no right number. Try several, and include a fall. The table under the result shows the same coin at rates from −50% to +100% a year, which makes plain how much the answer depends on the rate. Past returns do not tell you what comes next.

Look at the market cap it would need: the target price multiplied by the coins in circulation. If that is larger than coins that are far more widely used today, the target is asking a lot. The Crypto Market Cap Calculator works this out for you.

Not while you hold. When you sell, the profit is taxed at 30%, or 31.2% with cess. Use the India Crypto Tax Calculator to see the tax on a sale at the price you have in mind.
